People experience a retirement age in a good physical and psychical condition and are able still to actively participate in social events. However, to maintain such a condition demands an active approach to the life. One of a way of vigorous approach to the old age is education which for seniors becomes a means of looking for a way, a way of life, values of life, for getting to know possibilities but also necessities in the life. It is understood as a life value itself, one of possibilities of „good“ in the life, zest of spirit which can and should be accessible for all.

The University of the Third Age is an activity with more than twenty-year history. At present it takes place in various forms almost at all Czech universities. It is presented that in total more than four hundred of various educational programs are offered and about 16 000 seniors study in this form in all the Czech Republic. However, with some exceptions, this education is bounds to university towns, so above all regional capitals. For most seniors from smaller towns and the countryside this possibility of active old age inaccessible.

However, at present we have a golden opportunity to use a possibility of fast-developing information and communication technologies and the same as in other countries to make accessible senior education for as wider circuit of interested people as possible and thereby to provide the same chance to all seniors without exception of place of residence.
